Webinar: IoT, Cloud, Edge Computing Continuum From Research to Deployment
As Europe invests in the development of IoT, Cloud, Edge solutions, industry is struggling to adapt to the speed of technological change and the paradigm change towards more intelligence at the edge, that these technologies can bring.
In this webinar held on 30.11. it was presented some of the important topics that can help to understand how this transformation can be achieved from research, policy and standardisation point of view and what resources and collaboration is needed.
The main topics of the webinar covered:
- A common definition of edge topology
- Key use cases for Edge Computing
- APIs and standardisation as an element for edge platforms
- Use of open source / Eclipse
presented from the perspective of ongoing EU funded projects in IoT, Cloud, Edge continuum from Horizon Europe programme (UnlockCEI, OpenContinuum, HiPEAC) and exploring how to build on AIOTI’s experience on platform building and collaborate with those projects on open architectures, APIs and standards supporting an open, vibrant ecosystem perspective.
The presentations from the webinar can be downloaded here.

EVOLVED-5G project to participate in an online survey
Deadline to participate in the survey is: 22 December, 2022.
This survey targets at unveiling business and technological aspects that are related to establishing an ecosystem around the development of Network Applications (i.e., third party application that interact with a mobile network to provide network or vertical oriented services).
The information gathered will be used for quality assurance only. We respect your privacy so we won’t process your personal data.
The time required for completing the survey is about 5min.
The results of the survey will be published in the EVOLVED-5G deliverables.

5G-IANA project survey – Invitation to Participate
5G-IANA is an H2020 ICT-41 Innovation Action project that aims at providing a 5G Automotive Open Experimental Platform (AOEP) in which third-party experimenters in the Automotive-related 5G-PPP vertical will have the opportunity to develop, deploy and test their services (i.e., automotive applications exploiting 5G connectivity).
As part of the 5G-IANA project, we have created a survey to collect the expectations from potential third-party experimenters regarding the 5G-IANA AOEP.
The survey is targeted (but not limited) to automotive SMEs and start-ups, that may consider using the 5G-IANA platform for running their experiments during the project lifetime.
This survey should take about 15 minutes to be completed. You can participate using the following link (the survey will be open until 30/11):
https://www.incites.eu/5G-IANA/index.php/545137?lang=en
As a next step, an Open Call will be opened for SMEs and start-ups, with the goal to invite such third parties to run their automotive network applications on top of the platform provided by the project, making use of 5G connectivity. The Open Call will take place in two phases, with the first starting in early 2023, and the second towards the end of 2023, and will award at least 3 prizes of ~10-15K each to selected SMEs. In case you would like to be informed about the open call or express your early interest, you may send an e-mail to info@5g-iana.eu.
