The first webinar of INSTAR project that AIOTI is part of, took place on the 19th of April, over 90 participants joined the webinar from across Europe. All technology fields that INSTAR addresses were represented with participants from SMEs, industry, and EU-funded projects.
This webinar featured a comprehensive understanding of the INSTAR project and its objectives, as well as its role in shaping international ICT standardisation by working together with partner countries.
INSTAR is an EU-funded project that aims to support the implementation of Europe’s Digital Partnerships by working together with Australia, Canada, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and the USA to drive international common standards for AI, Cybersecurity, DigitalID, Quantum, IoT/Cloud/Edge, 5G/6G and data technologies.
Here are some key takeaways from this enlightening session:
🔹 INSTAR aims to harness existing expert networks within its European and International Task Forces to identify standardisation priorities and gaps in Europe and its partner countries.
🔹 The creation of publishable roadmaps for the implementation of identified priorities is deemed crucial for the project’s success.
🔹 While INSTAR will not directly engage in new standards development, it will support European standards communities in identifying major priorities and key focal points.
🔹 Each technology area will be evaluated using specific metrics and the success of the initiative will be measured through overarching indicators.
