AIOTI organised its annual event, “AIOTI Days”, on 24 and 25 September in Brussels.
The keynote was given by Mr Thibaut Kleiner from the European Commission, DG Connect, presenting the challenges and opportunities for Europe in the next five years with reflection on the findings of the so-called Draghi Report and plans of the new Commission in digital policy and innovation.
This year, within two days, ten thematic sessions were presented in four areas (policy and standardisation, green enablement, scaling up solutions and virtual worlds.
The results from the ten EU-funded projects (INSTAR, UnlockCEI, R3-Mydas, aeROS, CODECO, Cognit, COMMECT, Nephele, Pharaon, Fluidos) were also presented.
For the first time this year, the academic part called GIECS was organized. Twelve scientific papers were presented. This year, the best-scored paper was from the team led by Walter Quadrini from Politecnico di Milano.
The AIOTI Awards were given to the solutions from the AIOTI community in the SME category (the winner was Konstantinos Loupos from Inlecom) and in the research category (the winner was Parwinder Singh from the Aarhus. University).
The next edition of the event will be held on 30 September and 1 October in Madrid, Spain.
