AIOTI Webinar Presenting AI in Manufacturing Paper
AIOTI organised an online webinar on 19 February presenting the AI in Manufacturing Paper. The paper at the basis of this webinar was realised thinking about the new challenges and regulations in the manufacturing sector. The goal of it is to share with the European stakeholders an idea on how we can grow with the advancement of the new tecnologies. AI is no longer a lab topic, but a strategic lever. This paper was written to make sense of this transition. It is particularly important because we are assisting to a real revolution in front of our eyes: the establishment of AI, IOT and Edge Continuum inside the manufacturing world.
The central point examined is how the integration of AI is reshaping manufacturing by aligning productivity gains with regulatory compliance, sustainability goals, and human-centric innovation. It aims to catalyse informed dialogue across the European manufacturing ecosystem bringing together industry, research institutions, technology providers, and policymakers to collectively define pathways for the responsible and effective integration of AI into the sector’s foundational structures. Objectives of this paper are to provide a shared European perspective on AI in manufacturing, to connect technology, business models and policy, to Identify trajectories, not hype. For this reason the content are architectures and data, business models and sustainability, use cases and future directions.

SCODIHNet Updates
The Smart Connectivity DIH Network has mainly worked on the following topics
1/ A number of new replicable use cases have been introduced in the VET, now we have already collected:
– 103 replicable use cases coming from Call 1 projects
– 25 replicable use cases coming from Call 2 projects
– 9 replicable use cases coming from Call 3 projects
In total, the replicability catalogue encompasses 137 use cases covering most of the verticals. Additional replicable use cases will come time to time, the VET and the corresponding catalogue will be updated accordingly.
2/ The survey conducted together with the SCTWG from the EDIH network has been closed and the result is the following regarding the 5 key services expected by members:
– Co-development of proposals for EU calls
– Community building and awareness
– Technology updates and use cases
– Strategy development
– EU instruments and calls information
Now we need to identify which services will be under the responsibility of each group with regards to their respective competencies. Next step will be to identify concrete actions that we can put in place in order to provide the expected services.
PROJECT NEWS
Scaling up CEI Pilots: Discover the Open Calls of O-CEI and COP-PILOT
Organised on the 12th February 2026 within the CEI-Sphere framework, this webinar brought together O-CEI and COP-PILOT to:
● share lessons learned from O-CEI’s first open call,
● present the scope and objectives of COP-PILOT’s upcoming call,
● discuss how to approach open calls strategically to maximise impact.
The session was particularly relevant for innovators, SMEs, research organisations and stakeholders interested in scaling CEI pilots beyond initial demonstrations. The focus was on strategic approaches, strong proposal positioning, and how joint initiatives can amplify visibility and impact across the CEI ecosystem.
A declaration for the next decade – reviewing the 2019 WiD Declaration
During this webinar, held on the 16th February, where AIOTI moderated two session, there was the possibility of beginning the discussion about the past 2019 declaration by WIDCON, made on the basis of the EU Commission recommendations. The theme was and is how to find the more adapt and effective means to create a higher involvement of girls and women in the jobs connecting with ICT and the digital sphere in general. Five break rooms were opened during the session, where people had the chance to discuss about a variety of themes in this ambit, from stregthening the monitoring of data, to mentorship and implementation, from the involvement of family and teachers, to the work place environment analysis, from the control over the trainings to the quotas. The debate was fruitful and it will result in a document putting together all the contributions coming from the workshop, taking in great consideration the decisive contribution of the EU Commission (represented in the debate).
