Mission and Vision:

Identify green transition and climate challenges and provide AI, IoT and Edge continuum technologies and solutions that will provide opportunities to the solution of these challenges.

Scope:

Green ICT enablement, CO2 reductions, methodologies, energy efficiency, digital product passport

Objectives:

Policy and Standardisation

Updating of the report on the methodologies to demonstrate CO2 reduction when ICT technologies and solutions are applied, including the applied use cases.

Collaboration with ITU-T SG5 and ETSI TC EE on providing contribution to the ITU-T SG5 L.1480 recommendation relevant ITU-T SG5 documents and to the ETSI TC EE relevant documents such as future updates of L.1480,

Provide input to relevant policy and standardisation initiatives from the European Commission related to the measurement of CO2 reductions and reducing of the impact to the climate change when ICT is used and on digital product passport.

Research and Innovation

Create the opportunities for collaborative research and innovation and facilitate consortia building for EU funded projects.

Collaborate with other relevant organisations and EU funded partnerships  to create proof of concepts (PoCs), use cases and pilots to demonstrate the value of applied methodologies to demonstrate CO2 reduction when ICT technologies and solutions are applied, in particular AI, IoT and Edge continuum technologies and solutions.

Technology

Input to other groups related to the ICT CO2 reduction in Vertical sectors using the GHG measurement methodologies coming from this WG to all vertical WGs and WG Testbeds and discuss how these methodologies can be applied in use cases supported by AIOTI members.
