We wish you all the best in 2022.For the start, we would like to share with you what is ahead of us in this year, until the General Assembly that will be held on 23 June after IoT Week in Dublin, Ireland.
Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda and Projects
Collaborations between AIOTI members facilitated
We will continue with the work to develop our strategic research and innovation agenda (SRIA). This will serve as our input to the work programme of Horizon Europe 2023/24.
The matchmaking and facilitation in consortia building that started last year with Horizon Europe calls will be continued adding also Digital Europe programme and we will strive to find and provide more funding opportunities for our members.
Collaborations and Partnerships
Strong contributions to SNS and Gaia-X as they continue to take shape
On collaborations, we will continue our participation in 6G IA, to continue work on the SNS partnership, the first call announced in January, updates of the SNS SRIA and work programme 2023/24.
We were contributing actively to the Transcontinuum Initiative, and we will continue the work this year, on both contributing to use cases and participating in projects.
Regarding Gaia-X, we are still evaluating the best ways of contributing. We will keep you fully informed as the situation develops.
Over 200 participants at our last Signature event: IoT/IIoT and Edge Computing convergence. If you missed it, you can access the recording here
Our signature event will have its fourth edition this year, we plan to have a physical edition on 27 September. We plan to use the event to show our substantial progress from the last edition in November 2021, and where we have an impact.
We will continue with bi-monthly events having interesting external speakers, discussion with our partners as well as sharing with members internal work that has a cross-domain element. We start on 15 February so please join.
We initiated our Business Forum to provide our members with the opportunity to present themselves and discuss possible business opportunities. We will continue this year with monthly sessions. In case of interest to present, please contact the Secretariat.
Continuous alignment to achieve the impact
We will continue reviewing our structure aligned last year, to ensure continuity of work and focus on key themes of interest where we can make a clear difference and impact.
We continue our Digital Innovation Hub network, SCoDIHNet. We will continue developing this network in particular supporting the network in bidding for Digital Europe projects.
We hope you find this impactful and that you will join the leadership in achieving the best outcomes for our members this year, your support is most welcomed and needed.
Horizon Europe Information and Virtual Brokerage Session
Following the “Digital Autonomy in the Computing Continuum” Workshop in November 2021 (more information here), the European Commission invites stakeholders from industry, academia, and innovators to participate in an Information and Virtual Brokerage Session on the Horizon Europe 2022 Call on “WORLD LEADING DATA AND COMPUTING TECHNOLOGIES” and “Digital and emerging technologies for competitiveness and fit for the green deal” on 2 February2022, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm CET.
The event offers a unique international networking experience to forge the winning partnerships with academics, researchers, industrial stakeholders, and SMEs. Event participants will have the unique opportunity to pitch new concepts and applications, proposal ideas, and expertise in front of leading research organisations and cutting-edge innovators from across industry.
Pitch registration will start on 11 January 2022. The registration deadline is on 31 January 2022 12:00 CET latest. The event organisers will validate and confirm your pitch slot by 1 February 2022 12:00 CET.
Project partners for Master Programme on IoT Engineering (DIGITAL-2021-SKILLS-01-SPECIALISED call
The EC published a call to provide mechanisms to improve the digital skills of European stakeholders, targeting also the key area of IoT. Within this call, the University of Catalunya is looking for universities and SMEs that might be interested in contributing to the development and execution of a Master programme on IoT Engineering. As a research-driven university, they have been providing cutting-edge education on key aspects of IoT, including electronics, telecommunication, and informatics. Here is the relevant pitch at the Info Day of this call.
