On 7 May 2026 in Brussels, the Empowering Energy Infrastructure Workshop brought together stakeholders from AIOTI, 6G AI associations, European Commission, the CEI-Sphere Energy members, industry experts and energy large scale pilots. The workshop focused on key topics such as smart energy systems, 5G/6G convergence, edge intelligence, the CEI-Sphere Energy and sustainable digital infrastructures.
The workshop served as a collaborative platform for researchers, industry professionals, and technology experts to exchange insights and explore opportunities for advancing next-generation energy infrastructure. The discussion underscored that achieving large-scale deployment of smart energy solutions in Europe will depend not only on technological innovation, but also on establishing common standards, interoperable frameworks, and coordinated governance that enable seamless integration across devices, platforms, stakeholders, and markets.
